BRYCE CANYON, UTAH
DIRECTIONS
|
On the way back take highway 12 west to highway 143 west to Cedar Breaks
National Monument. I ran into some snow here... it got
quite chilly. Then onto highway 148 south, highway 14
west to Cedar City, and back onto Interstate 15 south to
head on home to Los Angeles. Round trip 1400 miles in
three days on my '94 GSX-R750. |
THE RIDE
|
Bryce Canyon is just one of many fascinating stops along
Utah's 120 mile Scenic Byway 12. Lake Panguitch,
located on Scenic Byway 143, is a large mountain lake
popular for trout fishing and boating. Cedar Breaks
National Monument is located off Scenic Byways 143 &
148 and offers a spectacular view of the "Circle of Painted Cliffs" a huge
amphitheater of colorful eroded rocks. Nearby is Brian Head Peak at an
elevation of 11,307 ft. providing a birds-eye view of the surrounding area. The
roads were just awesome and it was really hard trying to stick to the speed
limit! |
